How NOT To Fix a Broken PSP

If you want to fix a PSP, there are some things you need to consider. First of all, there are hundreds of PSP repair services out there who promise to repair your PSP for a certain amount. However, most services take weeks to fix a PSP and never guarantee a fix. These services can sometimes drain your pocket. Sony will not tell you how to fix a PSP. The good news is, you can fix a PSP by yourself.

If you have had your PSP for a long time, there is a good chance that you have something broken on it. One of the most difficult parts to repair is the LCD screen. Once the LCD broken or cracked, do not panic! The first thing you should never do is to let Sony fix a PSP if you can actually do it yourself. It takes Sony about 4 weeks to fix a PSP. They may also charge over $150 for their repair services. It is best that you find a repair guide instead and fix the problem yourself. All you need to do is to buy a new LCD screen and follow the instructions carefully.

If you decide to fix a PSP yourself, be very careful in handling the parts. Opening a PSP is not a difficult task. However, be aware that SONY has a warranty. Once you open a PSP, the warranty becomes void. The first thing you need to do is to remove the battery cover and the battery.

There are five screws that need to be removed. There is a warranty label under the battery. Under the label is a screw. Carefully remove the label to reveal the screw. Remove all the other screws including the fifth screw holding the faceplate. If you do not remove the fifth screw, the faceplate will break.

If you plan to fix a PSP and any of its parts, do not touch the screen. Fingerprints and dust are not easy to remove. The screen can easily be scratched so never use rough clothing to clean the screen. Always use a cotton cloth when cleaning the screen. To fix a PSP button that is sticky, carefully clean the button with a clean soft cotton cloth. After cleaning your PSP and repairing some of the parts that causing you problems, carefully replace all the parts. Don’t forget to put back all five screws after you fix a PSP.
